An organization committed to economically empowering women and minorities recently honored Kellogg for our outstanding support of and dedication to women-owned businesses.
The Ann Arbor, Mich.-based Center for Empowerment and Economic Development (CEED) bestowed its Corporation of the Year Award on our company during the organization's 25th-annual awards ceremony, held in Detroit in April.
"This award recognizes our ongoing efforts to seek out qualified, minority-owned enterprises to partner with us for a strong, diverse base of suppliers," says Cathy Kutch, Director, Supplier Relations and Diversity. "We were honored and humbled to accept this award on behalf of the entire Kellogg family."

Our company was recognized in particular for its partnership over the past six years with the Women's Business Enterprise Council-Great Lakes (WBEC-GL), a CEED initiative that assists female business owners with opportunities for women's business certification and access to private and government markets.
"Kellogg Company leadership has expressed their commitment to CEED, WBEC-GL and women business owners through their constant message of, 'What more can we do to support women business owners?'" says Michelle Richards, CEED's Executive Director.
More than 20 years ago, Kellogg began a Supplier Diversity program in the United States to increase our use of supplier companies that are owned by women and minorities. By investing in diverse suppliers, we can provide better opportunities for companies owned by minorities and women and, simultaneously, help strengthen our communities.
Today, the program includes suppliers representing more than 300 businesses owned by minorities, women and disabled veterans in the U.S.
Cathy adds, "Our Supplier Diversity program is a great example of just how much diversity influences our drive to provide sustainable business opportunities in the community and for the consumers we serve around the globe." |
