Kellogg Named Top Shareholder-friendly Food Company
We've earned the top spot in the consumer foods category on Institutional Investor's annual ranking of America's Most Shareholder-Friendly Companies. This 2008 ranking of top companies in 57 industry sectors is based on responses from hundreds of analysts and portfolio managers. They were asked to rank U.S. companies' effectiveness in corporate governance and investor relations and how these efforts relate to shareholder value. The honor recognizes the top companies in their respective sectors that have risen to the occasion, while facing a slowing economy, pressures on profits and stock valuations and an ever-rising tide of shareholder activism.
