Though shy and blinded by glaucoma, W. K. agreed to pose for this publicity shot of specially packaged Kellogg cereals bound for the South Pole in the 1940s. W. K. remained active with his correspondence and business affairs with the help of Elsie Hoatson, his nurse who also doubled as a personal secretary.
