Pictured here, circa 1911, W.K. Kellogg poses with his grandson, John L. Kellogg Jr., wearing a Boy Scout uniform. In 1925, W.K. Kellogg purchased land located in Augusta, Mich. and gifted it to Battle Creek Boy Scouts.

In 1994, the 300-acre site became Sherman Lake YMCA Outdoor Center and today welcomes 15,000 campers annually who live in Calhoun, Kalamazoo and surrounding Michigan communities.

Pictured below are several paintings that were commissioned by Kellogg Company that show Boy Scouts eating breakfast in different outdoor settings. The paintings were later featured on product packaging for Kellogg's Corn Flakes and Kellogg's Pep Bran Flakes cereals 1927 to 1929.

In 2010, the Boy Scouts of America will celebrate 100 years as an organization.
