Some of the products our company recalled earlier this year in response to the peanut ingredient-related salmonella outbreak are returning to shelves this week.
"With recent information we have from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the state of Texas regarding Peanut Corporation of America facilities, combined with the results of our internal review, we are confident that no additional Kellogg products are affected by the PCA recalls," says Linda Pell, Senior Director, Consumer and Quality Services.

Our U.S. Snacks and Specialty Channels businesses notified their customers last week that all recalled Kashi TLC Chewy Granola Bars will be available beginning today. Kashi TLC Cookies packaged for our Warehouse Club customers are also being reintroduced.
"We are working very hard to reintroduce the remaining recalled Kashi TLC Chewy Cookies, Kellogg’s, Keebler, Austin, Famous Amos and Bear Naked products in the near future, although we cannot confirm dates at this time," Linda adds.
All of our reintroduced products will be clearly marked with a blue "Naturally Yummy" logo on the packaging as well as the cases in which they are distributed. This will help customers and consumers easily identify these items as newly shipped products.
As President and CEO David Mackay explained during testimony before a congressional subcommittee Thursday, our company has taken a number of immediate steps to make our supplier program and food safety process even more robust. For example, cross-functional Kellogg audit teams have been established to conduct audits of sensitive ingredient suppliers.
"We have completed a thorough review of our products, manufacturing processes and suppliers of peanut paste ingredients," Linda says, noting that Kellogg no longer purchases any ingredients from PCA. |
