Few other sports have as dedicated a following as football, and it's to this loyal fan base that the Cheez-It brand is paying tribute and celebrating their dedication to the game.
To help remind consumers that Cheez-It crackers are made with 100 percent real cheese, the brand is partnering with ESPN's "College GameDay" and Facebook to find real football fans.
Each Saturday, "College GameDay" will feature sports talent Chris Fowler discussing one team from the current day's matchup and asking what key traits make up a real fan for that team.
"Cheez-It is made with 100% real cheese, so we champion other forms of real when we recognize it," states Ada DeMercy, Brand Manager, Cheez-It. "And sports fans are as real as it gets. We want to lead the salute to people who go to great lengths in the pursuit of their passion for their favorite team."
In addition to "College GameDay," Cheez-It recently launched a "Real Fan Wheel" application on its Facebook page.
Real Fan Wheel participants begin by choosing their favorite college football team. Next, users describe what makes them real fans of their team – these responses are then incorporated into individual fan wheels and posted on the Cheez-It Hall of Fame page on Facebook for their friends to read and admire.
So the next time you're watching your favorite team play on television, ask yourself: do you have what it takes to be a real fan? |
