We had our nomination meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 14th. The present Board will remain seated until next September as no one was prepared to take over any of the offices.
Please give this serious consideration. We need officers to "get this show on the road".
Don't forget our Holiday Luncheon on November 20th.
If we don't see you there, Happy Holidays!

Just a quick note to ask your prayers for a Keebler/Kellogg Retiree, John(Jack) Post. John is suffering from Smoldering Multiple Myeloma (a cancer of the blood plasma). As most of you know John started in Denver, then Phildelphia, then Atlanta, Cincinnati, and finally Grand Rapids (the last 3 as Plant Director).

Thought that you might be interested in our new store opening in Battle Creek.
After retiring from Kellogg's in 1997 as Director, Operations Technology, Worldwide Technology, my family and I developed and opened "Attic Storage" a self storage facility at the corner of Helmer road and Columbia Avenue in 2004. We expanded in 2006 by adding another 70 units (making a total of 283). August 1, 2007 we purchased 2 self storage facilities in Albion, MI (an additional total of 305 units).
Our latest venture converted part of our Battle Creek office area into a Battery Plus Retail Store. Within this store we handle every conceivable type of battery, from the smallest hearing aid to large bus batteries and everything in between. We specialize in the "hard to find" batteries and chargers for; laptops, cell phones, cordless telephones; portable cordless power equipment, golf carts, radios, power equipment, motor cycles, cars and a host of other batteries and related devices.
We also have a "Tech Center" where we will rebuild battery packs for electric razors, cordless power tools and etc. We will change your car battery, your watch battery and key fob while you wait.

Hi,
I've lost contact with a fellow retiree. Her name is Doris Hagerman Cole and she retired shortly after I did (1977 or ''78). I got letters from her as recently as 2006, but my attempts to reach her since then have failed. Thank you very much.

Ladies and Gentlemen,
Let me introduce myself, I am a Category Growth Manager here in San Ramon, CA supporting the Safeway account. I have been with Kellogg's coming up on 7 years and I would like to ask a favor. I have a 14 year old daughter who is doing a rather extensive research project on the Kellogg's Company and one component of the project is a short interview with a retire from the company. This will be in the form of a Q and A via e-mail and should be no more than 5-6 questions about your time at Kellogg's.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
Thank you,
Pat Ryan

Greetings, Lancaster (PA) Retirees! Spring is in the air! The business meeting is scheduled for April 8th. Are you making plans to attend? We have a lot to discuss and some new officers, too!
Your dues must be paid to date, so if you have not already done so, please mail your annual dues ($10) to our Treasurer, Gloria Thomas. We want to see you at the meeting so we can make plans for some activities to get this retiree 'club' off the ground.
Are you a member of AARP? Then you know that the AARP Convention will be held in D.C. this September. Your chance to meet other AARP members, tour our nation's Capitol, hear 'Chicago' perform in concert, attend useful seminars, visit the vendor booths, and celebrate AARP's 50th birthday. If you've never been to an AARP Convention there's never been a better time to experience it.
I'm working on discounted subway/metro tickets for anyone from our area that is attending.
Hope to see you at our meeting in April!

Our Denver Keebler Elf Reunion Picnic will be held Aug. 24, 2008 at Oakhurst Park in Westminster, Colorado. This is our 8th year of putting this together.
I worked for Keebler for 46 years & at on time had 13 family & relatives working there. My father, Louis retired, after 40+ years as well as 3 of his brothers.
So try to get this picnic up & running each year. I have 5 people helping & would like more. My wife is a big help; she had 33 years with Keebler. I have a lot of collector items from the past & a lot of stories. I have been told to write a book on the old plant to the new plant if I knew how I would; there is so much to share - good times bad happy crazy times. I spent 10 years of my 46 in Management. I have seen both sides & worked with great people. Thanks.

Happy New Year Lancaster Kellogg Retirees!
Gettle, Lutz, Fritz and Polynone...get your buns to that retirees' picnic down there in Florida! And Zimmerman and Hake, you may as well buzz over there, too! Rub elbows with the 'other half', huh?
Though the majority of us are still stuck here in the snow belt, we're planning some events this year. We finally have an activities committee who are impressing us all with their enthusiastic plans for picnics, and road trips. Hang on, Lancaster, it's gonna be a good ride!!!
See you the third Thursday of January at the Apple Tree. That's January 17th. And watch your mail for an update on our new dues structure we voted on at the business meeting in October.
May your New Year be a safe and healthy one! Pat Breneman

I helped introduce Special K over fifty years ago and still eat a bowl with a banana every morning. I am 76 and in perfect health. Last week I won the Senior Golf Championship at Emerald Greens Golf & C.C. Tampa, Florida. Special K for breakfast and a new Peanut Butter Salty Bar at the 10th hole did it. I was tied after Saturday and won by 4 strokes on Sunday. I am the oldest golfer to win a championship at E.G.G.& C.C.

Hi, I retired from the Keebler Company back on August 1st, 1999, after 33 years of service, selling "cookies, cracker's and smiles" with Sunshine Biscuits, and 3 with Keebler after the corporate merger, and now receive my pension checks from the Kellogg's Corporation in a ever changing "Corporate America".
I have no complaints, for I have been treated well by all over all these years, and Mama and I are lucky to still be in good health, enjoying retired life, spending time with Grandkids young and old. Still writing a local, weekly, outdoor sporting column after 30 years, still capable of fishing the New York City Reservoir system, the Hudson River and Long Island Sound, and taking advantage of whitetail deer, wild turkey and other fall game hunting seasons. I have returned to my old farming days, raising potatoes, tomatoes and other crops, still have an active chicken coop that produces eggs for family and friends, and wake to the crow of roosters at dawn.
Life
is good thanks to Sunshine, Keebler and Kellogg's - in that order! Any old Hunters, Anglers, Trapper's, or Native Americans out there in the fold (I'm part Wappinger, easter New York segment of Mohican tribe), feel free to contact me with like interests.
