"My 30 years of experience as an employee of Keebler Company, Grand Rapids, MI included working on the pie, cookie and poptart lines. As a first, second and third shift employee, we periodically received gifts for 100 percent production. If it were possible, I would return to Keebler as an employee with Joe Lang as my supervisor.
My favorite Kellogg/Keebler products are Pecan Sandies, Cinnamon Poptarts and Frosted Flakes.
Ernie the Elf wins my vote as my favorite character because he's symbolic of employees making cookies."

| "[I] Remember well when I was fresh out of high school went to work for Kellogg Co. and Mr. Kellogg came to visit 1951 I believe, just was inside #5 building and I said, "You must be Mr.Kellogg"" as he had a seeing eye dog with him. His reply,"Yes son, I am, and who is that smoking over there?" We were all surprised, but he detested smoking and said, "remove him". My most vivid memory of 40 years on Porter Street. Hiring in the same day as Bill LaMothe was another one."

"These are not my memories, but my mom's (Elizabeth Curtis) passed on to us. Before the depression mother was in charge of private dining room for W.K. Kellogg, 5th floor,#5. At that time they had China, crystal and sterling table service. Long stiff white pinafores for dining room uniforms, leather furniture in employees lounge area, nursery for children and soon went to 6 hours, so more people could work and the money would be spread to the community. Some of the stories were so interesting, and to think we have that handed down to us is remarkable in this 100th year celebration."

| "I started working at "Boman Bisquit Co." in April of 1957 until I went into the army from 1961-1963! When I returned, I was so surprised that all the flour, shorting, honey and molasses came in bulk; also surprised at the automatic machines upstairs! I worked in receiving for 41 years learning the new equipment! Enjoyed meeting many new employees over all those years!
My favorite cookie of all time was the "Iced Oatmeal". My favorite character is "Ernie the Elf".
We always made new suggestions for the warehouse like new coolers, cellophane room, bulk unloading with pallets, new forklift, etc.
I witnessed many changes over 41 years! Most of my fellow "old timers" are gone now; but I'm happy to have had the good job and good people of Keebler Company!"
