"I am 88 years old living in Birmingham, AL and still eat Keebler cookies. The folks at the warehouse here are terrific! I retired from Keebler in Miami, FL in 1979 after working for 30 years.
Here are two of my favorite stories about working for Keebler.
First, one day I was demonstrating the new Club Cracker at a Miami grocery store when an attractive woman sampled one and asked,"How are these different from Saltines?" I didn't know exactly how to answer her so I said, "Well, Lady, it's kind of like the difference in the way you look when you first wake up and you don't have any make-up on and then you put your make-up on and you look a little better. The saltine is like when you wake up and have no make-up on. The Club cracker is like you after you put on your make-up. There's that much difference in the crackers!" She laughed and laughed and bought a box of Club Crackers. I hope she is still buying them!!!
The second story happened when I was delivering Keebler cookies to a store in Miami. A lady walked up to me and whispered, "You got any elves in there?" I knew then that Keebler had arrived." |

I originally worked for Murray Biscuit Company in Augusta, GA. One of the people I had the opportunity to interview with at that time was Sam Reed. When Keebler purchased Murray Biscuit Company, I again had the opportunity to work with Sam Reed. Sam Reed was a very compassionate person who was interested in your ideas and opinions. He gave you the opportunity to grow.
My favorite products are Famous Amos Chocolate Chip & Pecan cookies because of their great taste. My favorite snack cracker is Cheez-It and my favorite cereal is Kellogg Frosted Mini-Wheats because of their healthy content.
My favorite character is Ernie and the Elves. This combination reminds me that regardless of who or how great the leader is, it takes everyone working together to make a company or product successful.

"I would like to make this entry in honor of my dear friend, Cindy. Cindy and I worked at Murray Biscuit together before her young death. Cindy and I would go to the canteen and laugh so much the tears would running down our legs. I miss you Cindy and I miss all my friends at Murray Biscuit. Thanks Murray for the memories."

"I worked for Keebler Co. N.E. shipping in Allentown from 1984-1998 when I retired. It was the first and last job I had working with automation. My favorite "robo" name was Sir Hector, there were quite a few others also. My favorite character is Ernie. I like the Soft Batch and Special K. I enjoy retirement but I will always miss working for Keebler and my fellow workers. Thank you."
