"In 1975 I retired with 33 years of service to Kellogg Company, Battle Creek, Michigan.
I had the privilege of working under 3 company presidents, and also Dr. Kellogg before he passed away.
I first started as a Box Car Unloader and worked my way through to Carton Press Operator. Then on to Mechanical Department. I also worked as a Steam Fitter, then to the Ivory Tower and worked Maintenance last.
The best privilege was being promoted to Supervisor in the Mechanical Department. Working all together under very nice people.
Favorite products: Special K and Frosted Flakes, which I helped set up.
I was very proud to be part of Kellogg Company." |

"I retired at the Kellogg's Snack Plant in Columbus Ga., September 2004 after 37 1/2 years.
I started work at the Sunshine Biscuits Distribution plant in Charlotte N.C., Feb 20 1967.
There are a lot of memories, I could share but I guess one of the most memorable is at the Columbus Plant the year the Olympic Torch came down Victory Drive in front of the plant. I dressed in our Cheez-it costume. I will never forget how the kid's faces lit up and they were so excited. I gave the small packages of Cheez-its to everyone that was there celebrating that historic day. It felt great to promote our products and especially our company.
Sunshine Biscuits was purchased by Keebler Co. then By Kellogg's Snacks and through all these changes the most memories come also from working with all the different people. I think Jay Kuhn, Plant Director Columbus Ga. Said it best when ask in an interview with The Columbus Ledger, what he thought was his most valuable asset and he said "The People".
Being treated like family is why Kellogg's is the greatest company anyone can work for. I miss all my previous co-workers, but have no regrets in making the decision to retire.
Thank you all for the wonderful memories.
Oh, by the way, The Cheez-it products flavored also, is my favorite brand."

"I worked at Salerno-Megowen Biscuit Company for 38 years. I started as secretary to the Production Manager and continued on until Administrative Assistant to the Secretary-Treasurer, Larry Hartlaub. My experience in the Human Resources department gave me the experience of working with people of different ethnic groups.
The Salerno family made you feel like you were a part of their family and not just an employee."
