Problems with Medco drug coverage corrected

Last week, the People Services Center discovered that Medco Health, our provider, did not process a data file specifying who is eligible for prescription drug coverage correctly. As a result, some of you may have experienced difficulty filling prescriptions between January 1st and January 3rd. You were likely told that your coverage had expired and were asked to pay full price for your medication.

Medco Health has now processed the eligibility file and prescription drug coverage has been fully restored.

Please note:

  • If you tried to fill a prescription and decided not to fill it at full price, you may now return to your pharmacy to have the prescription filled.

  • If you filled a prescription and paid full price, you may return to your pharmacy within 10 days from the date the prescription was filled to obtain a refund for the portion of the prescription price covered by your plan.
