Kellogg employees and retirees have always generously invested in the communities where we live and work.
As we face the most challenging economy in a generation, we again are provided the opportunity to help. Many in our communities, including working families, are struggling to provide the basics including food, shelter and health care. Everyone probably knows someone that's been affected by the economy – a family member, friend or neighbor. There is something we can do. We can come together to support the annual United Way campaign. United Way through the programs and partners it funds, provides valuable services to help people through these difficult times.
Between now and the end of September, United Way campaigns will be conducted to benefit nearly 30 Kellogg communities. This year's companywide campaign goal is $5 million.
"There's probably never been a more critical time for us to stand up and show our generosity as there is in these tough times," said David Mackay, United Way Executive Sponsor. "We know it's going to be challenging, but we're going to encourage everyone to dig deep and give generously."
All retiree pledges will be matched dollar-for-dollar by Kellogg's Corporate Citizenship Fund.
