If someone handed you $250 for your favorite charity, would you take it?
To this seemingly silly question, we can hear a chorus of readers responding in unison, "Of course! Who wouldn't?"
Now beginning its fourth year, the Kellogg's Care$ Employee and Retiree Volunteer Program continues to offer grants to eligible nonprofit organizations for which our U.S. employees and retirees regularly donate their time and talents.
"Kellogg people demonstrate their generosity and giving spirit year after year," says Julie Bosley, manager, Corporate Public Relations. "Kellogg's Care$ is such an easy way for them to make an even bigger impact on their favorite charities. Last year alone, the program donated $64,500 to organizations supported by our employees and retirees."
That's a lot of money - and participation is easy. If you volunteer at least 25 hours of your time with the same organization within any consecutive 12-month period, you can apply for the $250 grant through Kellogg's Corporate Citizenship Fund.
Active, full-time salaried and hourly U.S. employees are eligible, as are retirees. Each participant can earn a maximum of two grants per year.
But don't just take it from us...
During 2007, more than 100 people in 24 states took advantage of the Kellogg's Care$ program to support a wide variety of educational, environmental, cultural and community charities.
