New FiberPlus Antioxidants bars making it easier to add more nutrients to diet

While less than 10 percent of Americans are consuming the recommended levels of fiber each day, fiber is only one of today's top nutrition concerns for Americans. Research shows that consumers are also seeking to add more antioxidants and other nutrients to their diets.

Now, our company is making it easier for consumers to improve their nutrition with new Kellogg's FiberPlus Antioxidants bars. Each contains 35 percent of the daily recommended value of fiber, plus 20 percent of the daily recommended value of antioxidants vitamin E and zinc.

"Consumers are always looking for ways to add more fiber to their diets, and they know fiber is only one important part of overall nutrition," says Julie Salmen, Nutrition Marketing Business Partner, U.S. Nutrition Marketing. "Kellogg's FiberPlus Antioxidants bars are a delicious way to enjoy both fiber and antioxidants in a snack."

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, more than 90 percent of Americans are not getting the recommended levels of vitamin E in their diets today. Additionally, more than 30 percent of older adults are not consuming enough zinc.

Our FiberPlus Antioxidants bars, available in Chocolate Chip and Dark Chocolate Almond, provide a combination of fiber, antioxidants, calcium and 7 grams of whole grains that promote better nutrition.

Figure skater and "Dancing with the Stars" champion Kristi Yamaguchi knows the importance of overall nutrition. As an athlete and a busy parent, she appreciates nutritious and great-tasting snacks.

"As a mom, I know it's often difficult to get enough nutrition," Kristi says. "Foods like new Kellogg's FiberPlus Antioxidants bars are a great way to treat yourself to better nutrition."
