What are sell-side and buy-side analysts?
A sell-side analyst is employed by a brokerage firm or another firm that manages client accounts. A sell-side analyst also provides research and analysis to the investment community.
A buy-side analyst is employed by an entity, such as a mutual fund, that invests on its own accounts. |
It's official. President and CEO David Mackay and Chief Operating Officer John Bryant are part of an "All-America Executive Team," according to Institutional Investor magazine.
David was recognized as the top CEO in the food industry, as voted by sell-side analysts. This is the third consecutive year David has received top honors in the food industry from Institutional Investor.
John received the top CFO spot in the food industry from both buy-side and sell-side analysts for his efforts in 2009. This is the fifth time the publication has recognized John as top CFO.
To determine members of its 2010 "All-America Executive Team," Institutional Investor surveyed Wall Street analysts and investors from securities firms and financial institutions across the U.S. Investment professionals were asked to rate CEOs, CFOs and Investor Relations professionals across a variety of sectors, from consumer goods to health care to telecommunications.
The rankings reflect opinions from 570 sell-side analysts and 780 buy-side investment professionals at over 500 U.S. institutions.
Institutional Investor will publish its "All-America Executive Team" line-up in the February issue. Visit the Institutional Investor website to learn more.
