Dear Retirees:
In April, at our Annual Shareowners Meeting, we announced our plans to donate an entire day’s worth of cereal production to Feeding America, the nation’s leading hunger relief food-bank network. Our donation of 3.5 million pounds of cereal amounts to more than 55 million servings. Cereal is especially needed at food banks because it is convenient, shelf-stable and nutritious.
The donation will provide critical sustenance for food banks across the country as they are challenged to keep up with rising demand. Network agencies are seeing an average increase of 30 percent in the need of food assistance.
On June 17, Kellogg employees and retirees participated in food drives at 34 Kellogg locations throughout the U.S. Consumers can visit www.kelloggs.com/feedingamerica to donate and to get more information about Feeding America. Those making a donation of $5 or more will receive Kellogg’s cereal coupons worth a total of $5.
I know that Kellogg retirees have big hearts and will be eager to be a part of this important effort, and I’m happy to be able to share this information with you through our retiree website.
As we continue our tradition of corporate responsibility and giving back to our communities, I know you’ll join me in feeling proud of our company and our heritage.
Thanks for your support.
Sincerely,
David Mackay
President and Chief Executive Officer
