In August, eight leaders of Kellogg and Keebler retiree associations met at company headquarters in Battle Creek for the first meeting of the Retiree Association Council.

During the meeting, the group resolved that the purpose of the Retiree Association Council is: to serve as a liaison between Kellogg and its retirees, to share "best practices" for associations and to help build an information-sharing network for retirees across the country.

Representatives from each association also talked about how their group operates, from regular meetings to recruiting new members to special events.

Annette Zalner, director, Retiree Relations, organized the meeting and hopes the council will meet a few times each year. As the number of retirees continues to grow, the company continually looks for ways to enhance its communications and connections with all retirees, she notes.

"Kellogg is committed to people," adds Cyd Kilduff, associate director, Work/Life Programs, who oversees our retiree programs, "and the company values its retirees, not only for their contributions to our heritage and success, but also to our future as well."

If you're interested in joining or forming a retiree association, contact Annette at 1-800-Kellogg, ext. 2414.
