Watch cheese carving of Tony the Tiger take shape

A few weeks ago, the Cheez-It brand team asked employees throughout our Kellogg world which they'd like to see cheese carver extraordinaire Troy Landwehr sculpt out of a 40-pound block of cheddar: Tony the Tiger? Ernie Keebler? The United Way logo? Or the Kellogg's/CARQUEST No. 5 Chevy?

Well, the votes are in and the winner in a landslide is (drum roll, please) Tony the Tiger. Of the 781 employees who voted, 422 chose Tony. Coming in second was Ernie with 170 votes, followed by the No. 5 Chevy with 128 and the United Way logo with 61.

See the photos below to see how Troy carved up the likeness of everybody's favorite tiger during a special stop that he and the 2008 Big Cheese Tour made at the Battle Creek headquarters, courtesy of the Cheez-It team.

Troy's cheesy creations have served as the centerpieces of Cheez-It's Big Cheese tours in 2007 and this year. With this year's Big Cheese carving, Troy depicted John Trumbull's iconic painting of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Weighing in at a ton, the carving was nearly three times the size of last year's 700-pound rendition of Mount Rushmore.
