More of the products Kellogg company recalled earlier this year in response to the peanut ingredient-related salmonella outbreak are returning to store shelves.
The company's U.S. Snacks and Specialty Channel businesses are notifying customers that beginning the week of April 30 they will begin to reintroduce recalled Austin and Keebler peanut butter sandwich crackers. Start ship dates will vary by channel.
"We have worked closely with the North Carolina Department of Agriculture to complete a full hygienic sanitization of our Cary, N.C., manufacturing facility," says Linda Pell, Senior Director, Consumer and Quality Services. "We’ve also established internal Kellogg audit teams to conduct audits of sensitive ingredient suppliers."
All post-recall Austin and Keebler peanut butter sandwich crackers will be clearly marked with a diamond-shaped "Taste Freshness" logo on the packaging as well as the cases in which they are distributed.
"The new logo will remind consumers of the great taste they’ve come to love, while also making it clear that these are fresh new products," Linda says.
"Our company is also working toward the reintroduction of Kellogg’s Special K Protein Meal Bar Honey Almond variety and Famous Amos snack size peanut butter cookies with a planned re-launch at the end of May," Linda adds.
The company's recalled Kashi TLC Chewy Cookies and Famous Amos cookies returned to stores earlier in April. Kashi TLC Chewy Granola Bars and Kashi TLC Cookies packaged for our Warehouse Club customers were reintroduced in late March.
