In 1930, the W.K.Kellogg Foundation was created with a focus on children, families and communities. As noted on the Frequently Asked Questions section of the website, www.wkkf.org, his wishes were clear: When a person donates most of his or her fortune to establish a foundation, as Mr. Kellogg did, those who oversee that organization should rightly respect the donor's purposes. In our case, Mr. Kellogg asked that his foundation "use the money as you please so long as it promotes the health, happiness, and well-being of children."

Today, the foundation's mission and vision are as follows:

Our Mission: "The W.K. Kellogg Foundation supports children, families, and communities as they strengthen and create conditions that propel vulnerable children to achieve success as individuals and as contributors to the larger community and society."

Our Vision: "We envision a nation that marshals its resources to assure that all children have an equitable and promising future – a nation in which all children thrive."
